Leadership req shields.
Warriors got strength based and tactic based shields (mainly pointing out strength was primary attribute).
Why can't paragons get a leadership requirement shield? You can use some typical spear/ leadership builds but then currently you don't get a high al shield unless you add enough in command or motivation.
I don't think it'd be too hard to implement and I don't think it'd imbalance or anything.

Either for:
a) they get 3 attribute based sheilds
or
b) the motivation one is removed and is replaced by the leadership one.
And then I might play Paragon again.

Or, you could run /W for Tactics, giving you permanent IAS and the good shield you wanted.

Ok, if they stay with the 2 line concept. Then replace one with leadership. Just about any paragon who uses the other lines, needs leadership.

My paragon uses leadership, would be helpful with a shield for the attribute

Makes sense that leadership is available as one option, as it's something you'll always need.

I believe that Shields were Tactics only at first... I think that they added the Strenght requirement later on...
So there's no reason not to add leadership shields.

I just reached the sunspear sanctuary on my paragon. So far there are no skills in command or motivation that I actually want to use. But because I want a shield I have to invest in an attribute line that doesn't effect any of my skills.

I'm thinking it was designed so that Spearmen would need a third attribute for the extra armor a shield gives. However, because of the synergy between Paragon skills, it wouldn't affect anything UNLESS that Paragon were to use secondary profession skills.
That's the only reason I can see that they didn't add Leadership req shields.

the way i look at this is like this
eles-focus's for all of their attributes makes sense
wars-shields for tac/str adding one to say axe mastery makes absolutly no sense
para-one melee attribute 3 other give shield to others

I think if they added a Leadership shield, thered be no point to the other two shields.

I can think of some fun builds with 16 Leadership 13 Spears and 4 Command.

Leadership is a very strong attribute by itself along with spear mastery, whereas strength + weapon mastery is not nearly as flexible. That's why there's a strength shield and not a leadership one, or else it'll be too imbal.

It is not really that big of a deal, shield armor is only good vs physical damage anyway. I usually never meet the req for the shield, and have not noticed a huge difference, it is only 8 armor.

How do you get to this conclusion? As far as I know shield provide protection versus all damage, In the past it was directional for physical damage, but that has been removed if I am correct.

I don't know why you want this. Most people nowadays always use 3 attributes, 11/10/10.

only attribute that doesn't have an item (other than derv assassin or ranger attributes as all their main weapons are 2 handed) that is hardly fair...

The Paragon is the most poorly designed class in the game in my opinion. *Requiring* a three-attribute point spread just to achieve the basic functionality of the class is dumb. What they should've done is left out Motivation entirely, assigning those skills to Leadership or Command as appropriate. The shields would be Command and Leadership.

Completely agree. Motivation is nearly never used with the rare exceptions where there are multiple paragons is the party. I end up rolling 8 in tactics for a shield with just one skill of that attribute which outweighs all the command/motivation options.
